Trade Me Jobs set its sights on disrupting the Kiwi job market. With new data revealing that the most job listing views occur over the last week of January, we launched an imaginative campaign, spotlighting ‘the best jobs ever’ to inspire Kiwis to explore new opportunities.

The campaign debuted with a unique lineup of job openings, from a KFC ‘Wicked Wing Taste Tester’ to ‘Social Meowdia Expert’ for Pet Direct and ‘Chief Hype Officer’ for the Fijian Drua, showcasing dream roles available on Trade Me Jobs.

This playful approach immediately resonated with the public, shifting perceptions and drawing positive media attention. National outlets, including NZ Herald, Stuff, Radio New Zealand, The Edge, and TVNZ1, covered the story contributing to over 34 pieces of media coverage.

The campaign exceeded expectations, amassing 16.4 million impressions in just ten days - surpassing the 1.5 million target. We drove a 4.3% increase in web searches for Trade Me jobs and led to a 63% YOY rise in job applications. With a total of 171,570 applications submitted through Trade Me Jobs during the campaign period, the initiative successfully positioned Trade Me Jobs as a leader in the market.
